Supporting local communities

Clophill Eco Lodges provide a source of income for Clophill Heritage Trust to support heritage in the area (particularly St Mary’s Old Church) as well as providing young, often disadvantaged, people a safe environment to learn about the landscape and heritage as well as gain confidence to be able to work independently.

“The Frank Branston Charitable Trust were instrumental in completing this ambitious programme, funding our energy connection to the Eco Lodges to allow us to make use of our ground source heat pump and thermal store and so provide hot water and heating, as well as an electricity source, for the Eco Lodges in Clophill in 2014. The Eco Lodges are now an exemplar in eco solutions as well as supporting some of our important heritage in Bedfordshire.”
